Jaws Siriano Balenciaga
Joce first earned the name ‘Jaws’ in the hip-hip and battle community around 2016, from their fierce and intentional nature once they’ve started dancing and best witness when they are 'tapped in'.
Flowing from a foundation of hip-hop, soul, and groove, Jaws made their way into the ballroom scene in 2019. Their entrance into the kiki scene started at the AGO's 'The Red Ball', shortly after joining the Supreme Kiki House of Siriano. Since then, Jaws has walked both kiki and mainstream balls, creating moments with their performances and effects as 'Harley Quinn', 'Calypso' and 'Pennywise'. They are currently recognized as Toronto’s 2022 and 2023 Women's Performance of the Year from the TKBA's Awards (‘22), and the Midwest for Womens Performance OTY 2024.
Joce continues to share their passion for teaching and helping others develop a strong sense of self, while studying and honoring the history of ballroom's trans and queer pioneers.
